For Enigma Novelty Co., I developed a purely conceptual project focused on designing puzzles that blend art and mystery in captivating ways. I envisioned intricate illustrations inspired by world-renowned tattoo artists, transforming these artworks into black-and-white puzzles that invite solvers to engage creatively and add their own colors as they piece the puzzles together.
The design process was entirely imaginative, allowing me to explore research, sketching, logo design, package design, and photography without limitations. One of the most engaging aspects was conceptualizing the packaging: die-cut boxes that mimic the shape of the final illustration, with integrated barcodes that blend into the design rather than disrupting it. To ensure these ideas were cohesive and polished, I built packaging comps to visualize and perfect the finished look.
For the Enigma logo, I crafted a playful and whimsical typeface using Illustrator, aiming to reflect the spirit of adventure and fun that puzzles evoke. Although this project remained a conceptual exercise, it provided a rich opportunity to think beyond just designing products—imagining an interactive and joyful experience where each puzzle piece became part of a larger narrative, sparking creativity and delight in the mind of the solver.
